The hemp in question is Cannabis sativa L. grown as a low-THC plant. Hemp is the same botanical species as high-THC cannabis but bred for low THC content. CBD oil for dogs is the most-searched term in this category in Australia, and it describes the same product as pet CBD oil: a hemp-derived CBD oil formulated for animals. The "for dogs" specification reflects the most common use case, not a canine-only formulation — more on that in the next section.

How to read the label on a pet CBD oil
Label-reading for a pet CBD oil follows the same logic as for a human oil, with an added animal-serving guide. Here is what to look for:
Mg total — total cannabinoid content in the bottle. Tells you the size of the batch; divide by volume for concentration per millilitre.
Mg/ml — concentration. Our pet oil is 40mg/ml. This is the number that tells you how much CBD is in each drop or measured millilitre.
THC confirmation — "THC-free" on the label, backed by a Certificate of Analysis. Check the COA states 0% THC, not just "trace" or "under threshold". Ours shows 0% THC per batch; the COA is on request.
